About the Place
Restaurant 59 is a charming roadside gem located at km 59 on the Maxipista Mazatlán-Culiacán, offering a unique dining experience that blends authentic Mexican flavors with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. This well-maintained spot stands out not only for its clean and spacious environment but also for its attentive service, which guests consistently praise.
The culinary offerings at Restaurant 59 are as diverse as they are flavorful. From traditional breakfast dishes like eggs prepared to your liking and chilaquiles to hearty seafood plates inspired by Culiacán’s tomato-based mariscos, the menu captures regional tastes with a refined touch. One standout is the mariscos platter, delicately seasoned with just the right amount of chili and a subtle hint of Clamato, showcasing the kitchen’s ability to balance bold flavors without overwhelming the palate.
Dining here under the large palapa, surrounded by blooming gardens and the occasional parrot, creates an inviting outdoor setting that complements the meal beautifully. The space is thoughtfully designed, providing ample parking and clean facilities including showers for travelers, making it a convenient and comfortable stop along the highway.
While Restaurant 59 does not serve beer—something that some may consider a minor drawback—it emphasizes a wholesome dining experience with a focus on quality food and refreshing beverages like water and soft drinks. The management's dedication to hygiene and guest satisfaction is evident, though some operational details, such as timing of cleaning routines, could benefit from slight improvement.
Overall, Restaurant 59 delivers excellent value with great prices, delightful dishes, and genuine hospitality. It’s a must-visit for travelers seeking authentic Mexican cuisine in a charming and restful environment. The blend of flavors, coupled with the natural setting and welcoming staff, leaves a lasting impression that invites many to return time and again.
“ Great food and many entrees to choose from. I enjoyed the mariscos plate. Just enough chili sauce to give it flavor but not hot. The mariscos were more Culiacan style than Mazatlan style. More tomato based and a taste of Clamato. Eating is outdoors under a large palapa. You can't miss this place. It's where all the 18 wheelers are parked on 15 cuota highway. ”
